What is the process for working with an interior designer?

At Cyrus Interiors, we start each project with a meeting in your space so that we can understand your goals, style, and personality. Once we know what you are trying to accomplish, we will put together a design plan that includes a space plan, budget estimate, color scheme and a general timeline. During the project, we will have meetings at our studio, at your home, or at a showroom to discuss product selection and progress. We will manage every aspect of the project to ensure your total satisfaction.

Is hiring an interior designer expensive?

Cyrus Interiors offers high quality discounted design packages that provide our clients cost assurance, as well as the confidence that we will remain focused on their project until it is completed. Working with a designer is an affordable luxury. If you are looking for quality furniture, accessories, and finishes, you will find that a designer’s time and expense is money well spent.

What products do you offer?

We pride ourselves at offering high quality products that will provide enjoyment to our clients for many years. Cyrus Interiors is a member of the Michigan Design Center and works with hundreds of local showrooms and suppliers. We also work with furniture and accessory suppliers world-wide. We offer custom window treatments, built-ins, and furniture. If you can imagine it, we can create it.

Do you offer green products?

Green products have become very popular and Cyrus Interiors has a full line of eco-friendly products that we recommend to our clients.

Does it matter how large or small my project is?

Whether it is one room or your whole house, we have design packages to match your needs. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and on providing a total design experience to our clients no matter how large or small of a project they have.

Is it important for me to have a budget?

We find that having a budget in mind before you start your project will make your project progress more quickly and can eliminate some of the stress that you may feel coming into a project. Cyrus Interiors will select furniture and finishes that fit your budget.

Does Cyrus Interiors provide all of the products for my project?

Cyrus Interiors takes great pride in the end product we provide to our clients and offers below-retail pricing on furniture and accessories. We find that our clients appreciate us taking care of the inevitable problems that arise with the purchase of custom furniture and window treatments. It is also important to ensure that all of the pieces selected complement your design scheme.

Will you supply the contractors for my job?

Cyrus Interiors has a wide range of contractors that we have worked with previously and will recommend for your job. Quality installation and workmanship are as important as quality furniture and finishes, so we do not take this part of our job lightly.

What credentials do you have?

Lead Interior Designer Shirley Wickman received her BFA in Interior Design from the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. She is also an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Cyrus Interiors is a member of the Michigan Design Center and holds an active Residential Builder’s License.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept Visa and Mastercard.

How involved should I be in the project?

We want our clients involved in the design process. Selecting finishes and buying furniture are what makes design fun. Cyrus Interiors will manage all other aspects of the process, including: scheduling deliveries and receiving products, working with contractors, and returning any damaged products.

How far will Cyrus Interiors travel?

While many of our projects are in the greater Ann Arbor area, we are always willing to meet new clients in other areas of Detroit and beyond. We have worked on projects in Chicago and St. Petersburg, Florida.

How long will a project last?

Cyrus Interiors is committed to completing your project professionally in a reasonable time. When we take on a new project, we work hard to keep our clients focused on completing their room. Each project is different, and the duration will depend somewhat on the client's needs and pace. Standard delivery time for custom furniture can be as high as 12 weeks, so we work hard to ensure that we schedule the project accordingly.
